The CUB Clinic now offers Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT)

From the ages of one to seven, problems with emotional regulation and behavior (e.g., tantrums, aggression, defiance, "acting out") are primary reasons that caregivers seek or are referred for clinical services.

Parent-child interaction therapy (PCIT) is an evidence-based treatment approach designed to enhance emotional regulation and behavior via focusing on the parent-child relationship. If you would like more information about our PCIT services, please call the CUB Clinic at (303) 871-3626.

The CUB Clinic now offers Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT)

Pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period can be challenging. Often women and their partners experience feelings of depression, anxiety, and other mental health concerns around these times that can impact their relationships with important others. Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT) is a short-term evidence-based treatment model to specifically address such concerns during the transition to parenthood. If you would like more information about IPT services, please call the CUB Clinic at (303) 871-3626.

Starting Fall, 2020 The CUB Clinic will offer Perinatal Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Perinatal Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is an evidence-based practice designed to decrease symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, and depression which can occur surrounding child birth.

Therapeutic Process: What to Expect

All CUB Clinic services are initiated by completing a phone screen by contacting us at (303) 871-3626. The 20-30-minute phone screen is used to get to know caregivers and their child(ren) as well as to consider fit with CUB clinic services. A clinician will next contact the caregiver to schedule an intake session and to initiate the CUB consultation process during which time the clinician gets to know the family and their specific needs. During these first few sessions, caregivers and/or their child(ren) complete interviews, caregiver-child observations, and surveys to inform their treatment. A feedback session with the caregivers during which options for treatment are explored is the final step in the consultation process leading into ongoing therapeutic services.
