The foundations of innovation through IGMHI intentionally advance intersectoral and intergenerational connectedness from individual health and well-being through communities, including global ecosystems and planetary health.
AIMS Initiative
(Applied Interdisciplinary MHPSS)
The goal of the AIMS Initiative is to maximize community-engaged, culturally responsive, trauma-informed health and well-being across sectors and disciplines toward durable and equitable social justice, planetary health, and social determinants of health that is both immediately adaptive into implementation and foundational to future innovations. We match local, national, or international organizational needs with student professional skills guided through academic mentorship and applying novel methodologies.
Our core outcomes include:
Advancing workforce development in interdisciplinary applications and approaches to MHPSS in global health, development, climate resilience, public policy, and humanitarian assistance
Emboldening co-creation and co-implementation with locally led organizations, and embodying equitable and decolonizing practices
Promoting novel methodologies, applications, and research that bridges and bolsters standards and quality of interdisciplinary MHPSS programming and care
