Professional Biography
Julyssa was born in Washington State but grew up in the beautiful avocado state of Michoacan, Mexico! I come from an immigrant family, which has allowed me to make meaningful connections with youth who struggle with their academics and personal life due to generational trauma through AmeriCorps. I love learning how culture shapes each and every one of us. Outside of my academics and work, I love to travel, explore new things, and I especially love camping!
